With this altar that is being made, we have
become the robe of the ancestors: With the birth of this Tree of Life
Guardianship Something holy stirs in the wind. A name, in the season of
warm night womb-waters, was made where many prayers talked together; There
arrived, in songs, to prepare a place of clean birth.
A form appears, as dawn dews cling to plants at
twilight, and this embryo grows as a blessing for the Earth. Here before
this fire, Light of the First Fire (Hajinee’ko’), with this tobacco; this
key, this main smoke; talking through flames within visions of the Holy
One, Presence of the Most Ancient Way, aware and mindful; souls, angels,
of the holy ones; Inside Surrounding Eyes of Everlasting Life; Eternity
centered in this place here; Where prayers chant, make the way; provide
means, and open Pathways through and into the Great Remembering; new
awakened utterances of ancestors’ dreams; voices of the Earth, Spirit
Mother, Ocean of Being.
From eventide through nighttime, in daylight, at dawn
tide, newborn life awakens shapes, made of the clays of the Earth and
water,: this ‘being’ its spirit breathes, now it is beautified, its name
made known, now beautified, woman of water; her life beautified, all life
new beautified, In beauty it is finished. Of the Mysterious, do blessings
enfold it, pass through it, pass over it; through motion sung; it moves
now through ages in a sacred manner.
With these songs shall the Tree of Life Guardianship Being become, a
spirit of healing for the Earth, and her creations; for all that is one
with the Earth.
To carry on the
echoes of the ancestors, to prepare our Earth for coming of generations
unborn, is this done; has this been accomplished.
In beauty and in harmony, in beauty and
in balance, the song of birth completed: the song of naming completed: The
pathway of blessings is complete.
