Teachings 7
These teachings that Grandfather David taught me let me see into some very
deep things that I did not understand. They helped me to get closer to
figuring out what the spiritual ways of Indigenous people are about, what
they are saying and talking about. I finally figured out some basic things
about where these traditional elders were coming from. The center of these
ways is surrounded by a circle. They are about a mystical unity; a sacred
state of mind that merges into experiential Oneness. It is holy.
The power of these ways is very real and very profound. They even alter the
physical body or not the matter of the body but the perceptions of the body.
These medicine ways and spiritual teachings can change our way of seeing and
touching and knowing and relating to everything in creation. When a person
lives with traditional spiritual societies the power of the unity of the
group can cause that person to merge into the presence of the Great Spirit,
and become one with the group. This is what power of unity a village or
community of truth traditional Indigenous people have. This is the unique
gift and special power of indigenous people; it is how they will illumine
the whole Earth. Only they have this gift and power; the Creator placed it
in their hands. The world need only humble ask. When they participate
internationally we will all be healed.
An indigenous village can dissolve the ‘separate identity’ of an outsider
and absorb them into that oneness. When that happens, when an outsider
become one with the spiritual pulse of the sacred unity, that is when
mystical experiences begin to happen. Animals can speak to you. They can
talk from their mind to you and you hear them and understand them like they
speak English or Indian or whatever you speak. Also, spirits can whisper in
the wind and say beautiful things that touch into your heart. You can sense
the ancestors and see signs of them in odd ways because we are not even
separate from them either.
More commonly, a oneness with nature can be known. Your mind can be as big
as the sky and your body as large as the field or forest or desert plain
that you stand within. The sky and earth are not separate but part of one
circle. Your body can feel the plants and the stone and water like you feel
your veins and fingernails and stomach. Your body can know that it is bonded
with the spirit of the land. Your mind moves in the breeze and feels the
whole sky. We cannot talk much of these things. You can only know what it is
if you experience it yourself personally. No words will say anything about
it. Only your conscious, wakeful spirit can know oneness directly. Once this
does happen, that’s when you know its not just jumbled words or nice ideas
that our elders talk about. It is the truth. It is the fact of how reality
works and what it actually is. We’ve only been mis-educated is all. We just
forgot.
But one thing is for sure. When we come to know ourselves as more than a
separate piece of a broken puzzle, when we reconnect and our mind is a
hundred million times more aware and it is large inside the earth and fills
the sky or we feel and know the thoughts of our relatives without needing to
speak, that is when we know that the next world is one with this world.
Reality lets us understand this in our intuitive faculty. They say, “Those
who have gone before us, and those who will come after us, and us, are an
unbroken circle.” that is what the ancestors tell us. When we realize this,
then we want to make something very beautiful to leave behind here. We want
to plant a garden of Eden or paradise that will grow forever. When we act or
think in this world, we are already planting these seeds. they are entering
into the soils of the womb of Reality. They will grow. They will germinate.
They will bear fruit. and those seeds will sprout as well. ad infinity. so
we are already planting gardens for the coming generations without knowing
it. We want beautiful things in that garden. We want it to be a garden of
life, with colorful flowers of many shapes and forms, beautiful emotions to
delight the little ones, the children, who sojourn in that garden. We want
singing birds and rainbows and love to stir the hearing of those kids and to
make them look at each other and smile. We want to live for the future
generations; and for ourselves, we want to live for them. Their sadness and
happiness will be ours in the end; we are part of an unbroken circle.
The power of the heart is the first and greatest of all the powers of
creation; this is the indigenous power. When it awakens, the power of
belonging is quickened and comes to life; the power of the universal kinship
of humanity will heal the Earth. The collective unity is a power with no
equal on heaven or earth. It will unite the heavens and the Earth; paradise
will return and the kingdom of God, the plan of the Great Spirit, will be
firmly established.

We are forgetting our elders; we are cheating and neglecting them. We are
only cheating ourselves by doing this. We are loosing our own reason,
purpose and direction when we forget them; that’s how we end up loosing out

should conduct our events and hold the honorary seat always. They should be
asked to oversee and decide how things be done always. We are only here to

Our songs are very important to us; we have teach them to the children. They

We have been keeping this prayer within us for a long time. that’s why were
here. It brought us together. Its manifesting itself through us because it
lives in us. We need to hold onto it and feed it. Then it will expand and
reach other people. We heard it somewhere and it got into us. If we keep it
alive, it will heal the word. Others will learn to love and accept all
people. Others will find ceremony and pray. Black, yellow, and white, next
time of red. Meek and humble will rise up and heal the world. It will be the
time of the Earth people, the red people. The white people created the
